Kyra Minturn
KyraMinturn Sedgwick, born August 19, 1965 is an American actor. Her role as the main character on the crime drama TNT The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most famous. Sedgwick was awarded an Emmy Award in 2010 and an Emmy Award in 2010 and a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her performance as Johnson. Following the conclusion of the seventh season, the series was cancelled on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick's role as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick got an Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), who was a speech instructor and educational/family therapy therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, the venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian, of English heritage. Sedgwick declares herself Jewish, and she has said that she participates in Passover seders.
